Safe and Sound RF Detector
The Safe and Sound is a highly sensitive broadband RF detector engineered for accuracy and ease of operation. Its true, flat frequency response and battery life far exceeds any other device in a similar price range. These units are now available from Safe Living Technologies.
OFC-1 Pulsed Optical Frequency Counter
The OFC-1 is a highly sensitive light detector with an integrated frequency counter. It has a wide dynamic triggering range and can measure from 10 Hz to 100 KHz in two ranges. The user interface was designed to be as simple as possible while remaining a very useful and accurate piece of test equipment. These devices are now available from Safe Living Technologies.
Here are a few pictures showing different stages of the assembly process:
MicroMouse Autonomous Robotics Platform
This "wheelchair" style maze solving robot was developed for the IEEE MicroMouse maze solving robotics competition. It was the second in a series of three designs that won their competitions in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. This design includes optical proximity sensors, high speed motor encoders, motor control circuitry, wireless communications via ZigBee, and all sensing, processing, and maze solving code running in true real time on an MSP430 microcontroller. The performance of this system was highly dependent on the mechanical design (low center of gravity, low mass, low polar moment) as well as refined PID control and efficient maze solving algorithms.
